Our Disciples president, Rev. Dr. Sharon Watkins, will preach the sermon at the National Prayer Service in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, January 21, 2009. The sermon will conclude the Presidential Inauguration activities for the forty-fourth President, Barack Obama. The program will be webcasted in two ways. One is through the National Cathedral website at www.nationalcathedral.org and the other is through the Presidential Inaugural Committee website at www.pic2009.org. This is an exciting moment in both our national history and in Disciples history.

Our talent show at the retreat is often the highlight of the weekend. Our Interim Sr. Minister, Tracey Miller, has said that the retreat is a great way to get to know our FCC family better. So… what better way for us to get to know each other than for all of us to get comfortable and wear our pajamas?
While not mandatory, all children and adults are highly encouraged to don your best pj’s when we share our singing, acting and other talents with our church family.
The retreat is September 5-7 at Eagle Fern Camp. Registration will be available in the narthex on Sundays.
